Around 1950, oil on masonite, 50 x 70 cm, lo. le. monogrammed O.B.v.B. - German paintress, daughter of the painter Heinrich Breling, sister-in-law of O. Modersohn. B. studied ballet a. toured Europe. The Worpswede sculptor B. Hoetger made stage designs for her shows. Since 1925 she turned to painting a. studied in the studio of F. Mühsam in Paris in 1930. One of her daughters was executed by the Nazis in 1943 for being member of the resistance group 'Red Orchestra'. - Mus.: Hannover, Fischerhude. - Lit.: Saur.
