XXXXII/L, framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - Russian-French artist, one of the most important exponents of the new 'Ecole de Paris'. The family of the artist fled to Paris after the Russian Revolution. L. studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere since 1921; as early as 1923 he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne. His abstracts paintings made him one of the leading artists of the Informel. L. exhibited two times at the Documenta.
