Frith, min. dam., framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - The print was made after the painting of the same name by W. P. Frith. - French graphic artist from a family of artists. B. was pupil of his father a. of M.-M. Drölling. Since 1836 he studied at the Paris academy where he won the prix de Rome in 1838. In 1888 he became member of the academy a. knight of the legion of honour. B. is considered to be the best engraver of his time. - Mus.: Paris (Louvre), London (Brit.
