Ca. 1800, pastel/parchment, 34 x 28 cm, lo. ri. indistinctly inscribed, framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - We are grateful to Neil Jeffares for identifying the artist. - German portrait painter, the best German pastel painter since A. R. Mengs. S. was pupil of J. H. Tischbein in Kassel.
