Ca. 1910, oil/paper/wood, 34 x 48 cm. - The landscape is probably from the Engadin, where the artist spent his holidays in 1910. - Prov.: Acquired in the Galerie Netzel, Worpswede, since then Hamburg private collection. - Worpswede landscape painter a. brilliant graphic artist. E. studied at the Munich academy under W. Dietz as well as in Karlsruhe under F. Keller. Together with F. Mackensen, F. Overbeck a. O. Modersohn he founded the Worpswede artist's colony in 1889. Their exhibition in the Bremen Kunsthalle a. in the Munich Glaspalast in 1895 was the breakthrough also for E.
