Gandhara-region/Pakistan, 3rd/4th cent. Grey schist. Large rectangular frieze stone. At the front a deep relief with 3 figures underneath richly embellished arches with grapes and among wide columns. In the centre a standing Bodhisattva with long flowing robe and raised hands, framed by 2 devotees. 19,5 x 49 cm. - For the characteristic shape of the arches compare with 2 reliefs mit standing figures in the coll. of the British Museum: Zwalf, A catalogue of the Gandhara Sculpture in the British Museum, Bd.
