Oil/canvas, 60,5 x 51 cm, min. rest., relined. - Expert report: Eduard Safarik, Rom, 12.2.2013. - As in his portrait of the Prussian crown prince Friedrich Wilhelm the artist paints the tsar with a leonine mane to illustrate the character of the person. - Flemish painter. He was pupil of E. Quellinus II in Antwerp in 1668, in Rome 1674 he joined the Bentveughels with the modest name Parrhasius. He worked in many European residental cities a. became painter to the court in Vienna in 1695.
