Bronze with brown greenish patina, h. in total ca. 45 cm, on plinth with monogram and dated 'Roma 1889 TP 99'. - The bronze of the Roman bull marks the main work in Philipsens sculptural oeuvre. A cast of this bull is in the Copenhagen Museum of Art. - The most important Impressionist and Danish sculptor, student of NJ Simonsen and C.
