China. Carved white-yellowish jade with very strong brown veining. Elegant figurine of the mythical creature in elongated position. The head raised and slightly turned right. Incised with archaic decoration. L. 10 cm. - Compare to a very similar figurine - with additional rider - in the Freer Sackler Gallery, Washington D.C., dated into the Han-dynasty.
