Couture, study trips to Antwerp, Paris a. Barbizon, settled in Berlin in 1861, discoverer of the beauty of the Mark Brandenburg. - Mus.: Berlin (Nat.-Gal.). - Lit.: Boetticher, Thieme-Becker, Bénézit. - The stud Graditz was founded by Augustus II the Strong, its buildings were constructed by Daniel Pöppelmann. In the foreground of the painting the presumed squire is looking at his horses.
