Early 17th cent. Bronze, with dark patina. Archetypal example of the artists works of lively poses. (Comp. lit. 'The Four Elements' in Robert H. Smith Collection, London, in: Radcliffe/Penny, Art of Renaissance Bronze 1500-1650, 2004, p. 112). Partly rubbed. H. without plinth 24,8 cm. Plinth diameter 11 cm and H. 3 cm. Formerly collection Graf of Heynitz-Miltitz, Schloß Siebeneichen, and the collection of a Swedish noble.
