Lower right signed and dated H. de Beauvoir 55, on the reverse titled, on the stretcher inscribed 'La batteuse sarde'. - Provenance: Private collection Lower Saxony - French paintress, sister of Simone de Beauvoir. B. was taught painting among others at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere and at the Académie Colarossi. She was introduced to the circle of Jean-Paul Sartre and also met Picasso, Dalí and Cocteau.
