Rare Perfume 'Amouage'

Asprey & Co. Ltd., London. 1984. Sterling silver, gold-plated, aventurine. H. approx. 11 cm. Flacon is filled. A luxurious 'Amouage' perfume, also known as 'The Gift of Kings' as it was not originally produced for commercial sale,, set within an intricately crafted, gold-plated silver body crowned with a sphere and featuring four-sided aventurine panels; on top is a silver hallmark depicting a lion and the date letter K, an opening mechanism on the underside bearing the serial number 188, marked with a striding lion (sterling silver), a lion's head (London) and a four-leaf symbol with 'A & Co Ltd' as a reference to the Asprey brand, one of the first 'Amouage' editions, as the house was founded in the Sultanate of Oman in 1983 at the instigation of Sultan Qaboos.
