1967. Metal, partially painted yellow and blue. H. 9 x 28 x 16 cm. Signed HAJEK, foundry stamp NOACK BERLIN. Three-dimensional grid structure made of geometric shapes on a stepped plinth - German painter, graphic artist and sculptor, important representative of Informel and Concrete Art, studied sculpture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, then became a freelance sculptor in Stuttgart, from 1980 head of the sculpture class at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe until 1992. Hajek exhibited several times at the documenta in Kassel (1959 and 1964). After figurative beginnings in the first half of the 20th century, from 1950 onwards Hajek modeled predominantly abstract sculptures that can be assigned to informal art; from the mid-1960s onwards he used colored geometric shapes in the formal language of 'concrete art'. Vita:
