Meissen. Designed 1736, made around 1990. Porcelain, decorated with colors and gold. L. 29 x 21.5 cm. Crossed swords mark, model number 5228, year mark. In the mirror there is a swan relief, colored flower branches and scattered flowers, gold lace edge. Gold monogram 'J' - German porcelain modeller and sculptor, taught by the sculptor Thomae in Dresden, whose baroque influence is especially visible in his animal figures, in 1731 appointed court sculptor by August the Strong, at the same time beginning his work for porcelain manufacture Meissen, which he directs for many years, his works are among the highlights of early European porcelain.
