Meissen. Designed in 1736, executed in the 20th century. Porcelain, decorated with colors and gold. Cups H. 10 cm, saucers diam. 16,5 cm. Swords mark. Side handles in dolphin shape, lid with plastic snail, swan relief on all sides, painted with flower branches and scattered flowers, gold lace edge. Gold monogram 'J' - German porcelain modeller and sculptor, taught by the sculptor Thomae in Dresden, whose baroque influence is especially visible in his animal figures, in 1731 appointed court sculptor by August the Strong, at the same time beginning his work for porcelain manufacture Meissen, which he directs for many years, his works are among the highlights of early European porcelain.
