Lower right signed and dated Oraá 74, on the reverse titled. - Provenance: By Otmar Calder, coach of the Jamaican national soccer team in the 1970s; acquired from an exhibition by the artist in Havana; thence by descent - Cuban painter, one of the island’s leading artists in abstract painting. O. studied at the Havana Academy. In 1957, he and his wife, Loló Soldevilla, founded a gallery in Havana and the avant-garde group Los Diez Pintores Concretos, pioneers of Concrete Art in Cuba. His outstanding contribution to the renewal of Cuban art has been recognized in numerous exhibitions, including those abroad.
