Copenhagen. Designed around 1905, made 1933-1944. Sterling silver. Marks: DENMARK STERLING, GJ, model no. 2B. Dm. 15 cm, weight approx. 168 g. Small round tray, with three openings on the edge with typical magnolia buds - Literature: Taylor/Laskey, page 48 - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.

Vita:
