Copenhagen. Designed in 1917, made after 1977. Sterling silver. Marks: DENMARK STERLING, manufacturer's mark Georg Jensen, model no. 235 B, year letter L 10. Sugar bowl: H. 9.5 cm, weight approx. 188 g, creamer: H. 193 g, weight approx. 193 g. Sugar basket with very tiny chip. Elegant two-piece set with a light hammered decoration, on a round, profiled base and florally openwork shaft, the curved handles end in delicate flower buds - Literature: Taylor/Laskey, page 112, figures 1 and 2 - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
