Lower right autographed and dated Joichi Hoshi 76 as well as stamped, lower left numbered 91/99. - Literature: Catalogue raisoné: Katogaro 350 - Japanese woodblock print artist. H. initially worked as a teacher in Taiwan until 1941. Beginning in 1952, he began participating in print exhibitions; he studied painting in Tokyo until 1956. From the 1970s onward, trees and forest landscapes became the dominant themes of his body of work.
