Lower left autographed Rodrigue. - Provenance: Personally acquired by the consigner in the artist's gallery Rodrigue Blue Dog, Carmel, California, October 1st 1992 - American painter. R. studied at the University of Louisiana and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. After beginning his career painting typical Southern landscapes, he gained worldwide fame in the early 1990s with his series of blue dogs. The series initially stemmed from his exploration of a local werewolf legend; later, the dog evolved into a symbol representing a wide variety of life situations.
