Around 1920/30. Bronze, olive brown patinated, signed 'Prof.V. Seifert'. Figure: H. 62.5 cm, black serpentine base: H. 10 cm. Visible cast seam on the right 'upper arm, plinth minimally chipped, stone base chipped. Erotic representation of a female nude drinking from a bowl. - The Drinking Woman is one of Seifert's best-known works, a life-size example is his fountain sculpture in Rostock (1922) - Provenance: Privately owned in Schleswig-Holstein since around 1930 - German sculptor. Seifert attended schools in Vienna and Munich and studied at the Museum of Decorative Arts and at the Berlin Art Academy under Ernst Herter, Ludwig Manzel and Peter Breuer.
