Meissen. Around 1738. Porcelain, colored onglaze decoration, gilding. Dm. 23cm. Swords mark, impressed mark E in the base ring (= Dreher's mark Eckold turner's mark). Very minor traces of abrasion and gold loss. Sulkowski-Ozier model. In the mirror, the Münnich coat of arms framed by the chain of the Russian Order of St. Andrew, underneath a written cartouche with the motto OBSEQUIO ET CADORE (in obedience and integrity), surrounded by Indian blossom branches and scattered flowers. - Count Burchard Christoph von Münnich (1683-1767) was an engineer and field marshal in the service of the Electorate of Saxony and Russia. He fell into disgrace in 1741 and was banished to Siberia.
