1970. Bronze, brown patinated. H. 25 cm x 34.5 x 11.4 cm. Artist's signet, numbered copy 10/10, foundry stamp GUSS BARTH RINTELN. The animal bronze is preceded by natural studies of elephants that the artist made during his stay in Africa in 1955. Marcks also graphically implemented the motif in two woodcuts from 1954 and 1956 - Literature: Cat. rais.
