1968. Bronze. H. 54 cm. Signed H. J. FÖRSTER, dated 1968. Here, Förster explored a classic motif in sculpture, depicting a standing female nude in a frontal view, in the act of undressing - A German sculptor and draftsman, he studied at the School of Applied Arts in Leipzig after completing an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor, and worked as a freelance sculptor in Leipzig beginning in 1965. Förster worked in various media, primarily stone, wood, and bronze, but also ivory and soapstone; in 1982, he received the City of Leipzig Art Prize Mus.: Berlin, Stiftung Deutsches Historisches Museum; Leipzig, Museum der Bildenden Künste etc. Lit.: Saur AKL vol. 41
