Corinth, married to the painter and architect Emil Maetzel, educational journeys to Paris and Chartres, member of the Hamburg Secession, started with expressionistic woodcuts, the pictorial oeuvre was mainly created in her last decade of life and mainly uses a expressionist pictorial language.
