1961. Bronze, dark patinated. H. 34 cm. On the reverse side of the base monogrammed fl, dated 1961, foundry mark GUSS BARTH. A boy playing the flute, sitting on a high pedestal with his legs crossed. Fleer, who created a series of thematically related basic figures over the course of four decades, also varied the type of flute player several times and, for example, created another boy with a flute in 1963, sitting on the ground with his legs stretched out - Literature: Illustration in: Fritz Fleer.
