Designed early 20th century. Bronze, brown patina. H. 14,5 cm. Bear cub lying playfully on its back and wrapping its legs around itself. The design is likely to have been created by Carl Milles, who created the granite groups of playing bears at the entrance to Berzelii Park in Stockholm at the beginning of the 20th century - Swedish sculptor, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, then taught at the Stockholm Academy of Art, 1931-1951 in the USA as professor at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Numerous works in public spaces in Sweden, the largest collection of his works is at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in the USA.
