Bronze, brown patinated. H. 43 cm. Monogrammed SO. Inspired by his teacher Fritz Behn, Sonnleitner also explored the theme of animal sculpture. The giraffe is depicted in motion, with its neck stretched out and its head held high - German sculptor, received his initial training at the Polytechnic in Würzburg and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, first under Karl Killer and Fritz Behn and finally as a master student of Joseph Wackerle. After his studio in Munich was destroyed during the war, he settled in his hometown of Würzburg and carried out numerous commissions in sacred and public spaces in the Franconian region
