Albrechtsburg Meissen 2008 - Literature: Catalogue raisonné no. 3637 - Werner is one of the most important Meissen artists in the second half of the 20th century. In 1957 he was appointed decorator of the manufactory and together with Ludwig Zepner and Peter Strang founded the artist group of the Meissen manufactory. Since 1978 he has taught at the Burg Giebichenstein/Halle College of Art and Design.
