Schweidnitz (Silesia). 18th cent. Silver, partially gilt. Marks: Hallmark: Schweidnitz (Rosenberg III, No. 4516), maker's mark: IFB in trefoil (unidentified), control stamp. H. 18 cm, approx. weight 595 g. Very slight signs of age in the form of minimal scratches and minimal dents. On a fluted foot rim, the cylindrical fluted body with volute handle. The base, sides, and lid rim are decorated with 24 Silesian 'Three Brothers Talers' bearing the portraits of the brothers George II of Brieg (1639-1663), Louis IV of Liegnitz (1616-1663), and Christian of Liegnitz-Brieg (1618-1672). In the lid and base, one Saxon taler each with portraits of the brothers Christian II (Elector of Saxony from 1591), Johann Georg I (1585-1656) and August (1589-1615), dated 1600.
