Joseph Wackerle (Partenkirchen 1880 - Partenkirchen 1959)

Nymphenburg. Designed 1910, made 20th cent. White majolica with light green, pink, yellow, and black painting. H. 54,5 cm. Diamond-shaped mark. A smaller, modern version of the macaw sculpture that Wackerle created in 1910, measuring an impressive 114 cm, for the German Pavilion at the Brussels World's Fair. From 1911 onwards, a smaller version was also available, which was suitable for conservatories and private interiors - Literature: Illustrated in: Alfred Ziffer. Nymphenburger Moderne.
