A. studied at the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana and at the Central School of Art and Design in London. Further studies in England and United States. Until 1994 worked as a professor at the College of Art of the University of Kumasi. A. was awarded the Flagstar Award by the ACRAG in Ghana and the Destingguished AFGRAD Alumni Award by the African-American Institute in New York.
