On the reverse autographed Geiger and numbered 69/150. - G. is one of the most important representatives of color field painting in Germany. After studying architecture at the Munich School of Applied Arts, he worked as an architect before turning to painting as a self-taught artist in the 1940s. He was a founding member of the Zen-49 group and professor of painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1965 to 1976.
