Watercolour. 25 x 28,5 cm. Framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. Low left monogrammed HF, titled on the backside protection. Inconspicuous scratch. - Swiss legal historian. F. met Emil Nolde as his drawing student in St. Gallen, which led to a lifelong friendship. In addition to his work as a legal scholar, F. was chairman of the Jena Art Association and was himself active as a painter. F. was a great supporter of Emil Nolde's art.
