Meissen. 1979. Porcelain, painted in color. H. 70 cm. Crossed sword's mark, monogrammed V.B. 38/79 ( Volkmar Bretschneider), LP (Ludwig Zepner), GW (Gerhard Wronkowski). The large, unique vase in the shape of a calabash was created in collaboration with Ludwig Zepner, who designed the shape, and Gerhard Wronkowski, who freely turned the vase. The design and execution of the painting are by Volkmar Bretschneider: the Japanese-inspired decoration in unusual colors with shades of blue, green, purple, and pink shows a coastal landscape all around, with towering pine trees in the foreground and a striped decoration in the upper third. - A German porcelain painter. 1944-1949 traineeship at the Meissen manufactory, specialisation in fruit, bird and portrait painting, since 1975 active in the creative development of the manufactory, created many pieces of studio porcelain.
