Novelty-Jewellerypiece Needle with Old Cut Diamond 'bird's claw'

Around 1900. 18 ct. yellow and rosé gold, metal slider added. Weight: approx. 2 g. L. 69 mm, needle top 13 x 6 mm. Old cut diamond in oval shape approx. 0,15 ct., White(H), Pique. (2 small chips). The new figurative, narrative jewellery, known as Novelty Jewellery, became fashionable in the second half of the 19th century in the form of insects, animals and objects - it was considered an accessory for both ladies and gentlemen.
