Needle with carved amethyst in scarab style (w. 7 mm). Needle with coral ball (diameter 13 mm). Needle with small opal cabochon (diameter 4 mm). The new figurative, narrative jewellery, known as Novelty Jewellery, became fashionable in the second half of the 19th century in the form of insects, animals and objects - it was considered an accessory for both ladies and gentlemen.
