As a precocious talent, he succeeded in selling his first paintings while still at school. Even before he was 20 years old, he was exhibiting in New York, Singapore, London and Basel; many more exhibitions followed, including at the Bavarian National Museum in Munich. Löwentraut was awarded the Barlach Prize in 2023.
