Dahmen, on the reverse label wit hint to Galerie Fulazik Bochum 1965. - Along with Emil Schumacher and Gerhard Hoehme, D. is one of the most important representatives of German Informel. He attended the Werkkunstschule Aachen in 1932/33 and then made an apprenticeship as a commercial artist. After the Second World War he studied only briefly at the Düsseldorf Academy. Since a first stay in Paris in 1951, he established lively contacts with the French art scene and became a pioneer of informal painting in Germany.
