Acrylic/canvas. 81,5 x 100 cm. Unframed. Lo. le. sign. Miotte. - Provenance: From the collection of a German friend of Miotte who lived in France for a long time - French painter, one of the pioneers and main masters of the French Informel. M. studied mathematics in Paris, but at the same time took painting lessons with O. Friesz and O. Zadkine. In 1948 he moved into his first studio and became acquainted with H. Arp, S. Francis and S. Poliakoff. Thanks to a scholarship to New York, he connected with the American avant-garde with masters such as M. Rothko and A. Calder. He also worked in Italy, Switzerland and Hamburg. In addition, he was one of the few Western artists allowed to exhibit in China. A strong sense of rhythm and color and a drive for further development characterize M.'s work, which is now preserved in leading museums.
