1980. Silk screen in colours. 54,5 x 74 cm. Unframed. Lo. ri. autographed and dat. Bill 80, lo. le. num. 89/99 and blind stamp of the Erker-Presse. - German artist, designer and architect, one of the most important proponents of concrete art. From 1927-1929, B. studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau. He held his first exhibtion in 1929 and travelled to Italy and France the following year. Between 1932-1936 he was active within the Abstraction-Création group. Later he would help shape the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm and teach at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. He exhibited at the Documenta multiple times and was awarded a variety of accolades throughout his career, including the Kandinsky Prize in1949 and the Zurich Art Prize in 1986.
