Oil/canvas/cardboard. 34 x 45 cm. Lo. ri. monogr. E.B., verso a gallery label 'G. Schibuhr, Stralsund'. - Provenance: From the artist to her cousin, the great-grandmother of the consignor, thence by descent. - German landscape and portrait paintress. Since 1888 she studied in Berlin, Dresden and Munich among others under C. Landenberger. After travelling Europe she continued her studies at the Académie Colarossi and at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris under L. Simon, J. Girardet und R. Prinet. Since 1904 she spent long periods on Hiddensee the landscapes and people of which became distinctive for her oeuvre. Mus.: Rostock, Schwerin, Stralsund a. others. Lit.: Vollmer, R.
