Salustiano, on the reverse titled and dat. 2001. - Provenance: Acquired directly from the artist by the consignor in 2001. - Spanish painter. S. studied at the Seville School of Fine Arts until 1986. His portraits, painted in the manner of the old masters and significantly enhanced by brightly coloured backgrounds, have been shown in countless solo and group exhibitions. S. has also received major commissions, including from the Dalai Lama Foundation, where he has exhibited alongside artists such as Marina Abramovic, Bill Viola, Anish Kapoor and Richard Avedon. The artist lives and works in Seville.
