1987/88. Figure set maple and rosewood, turned, inset coloured etchings, covered with plastic pane; 2 game plans: etchings with chessboard, one of them with passe-partout and softwood frame. Figures: H. 2 cm, diam. 4 cm, chess board: 52 x 52 cm. From an edition of approx. 20 copies 'The light tiles embody the water, the dark ones the earth in the form of the tree' (Chr. Mischke). - Provenance: Gerd-Wolfgang Essen Collection, Hamburg - German graphic artist and draughtsman. M. studied at the Nuremberg and Munich academies since 1993. He worked as a teacher before studying again in Munich and Vienna, among others under R. Hausner. M. won many awards. Mus.: New York (MOMA), Vienna (Albertina), Hamburg (Kunsthalle), Cologne (Wallraf-Richartz-Mus.), Nuremberg (Germ. Nat.-Mus.), Lodz a. others.
