Around 1910. Nutwood, profiled carved, various precious woods, brass handles, glass top. H. 80 cm, w. 77,5 cm, d. 59 cm. Inscribed: L Majorelle (inlaid). Heavy signs of wear consistent with age and use. Two-tiered table with brass handles on the sides, floral inlay with clematis of various precious woods - Provenance: Essen Collection, Hamburg - French decorator and furniture designer, who manufactured his own designs, in the French tradition of the ébéniste. He was one of the outstanding designers of furniture in the Art Nouveau style, and after 1901 formally served as one of the vice-presidents of the École de Nancy.
