Around 1910. Bronze, black patinated. H. 27 cm, marble plinth: H. 3 cm. Sign. W. ZÜGEL MUNICH, foundry stamp GUSS V. A. BRANDSTETTER MUNICH, old sticker of the Munich Secession as well as handwritten inscribed sticker. As a label on the underside proves, the bronze was shown at one of the exhibitions of the Munich Secession, where Zügel exhibited for the first time in 1907 and is listed as a full member - Animal sculptor, son of the Munich painter Heinrich von Zügel, studied at the Munich Art Academy since 1900, since 1903 autodidact in the field of sculpture, since 1907 member of the Münchner Secession, 1926 appointed as professor of Fine Arts in Munich.
