Germany, probably Augsburg. Around 1750. Brass, traces of gilding and silver-plating. H. 12 cm, base: Diam. 8 cm. Octagonal base plate with embedded compass (needle later) under glass (this one with crack), hinged plumb bob and 2 adjusting screws, hour disc adjustable from 0-90 degrees via degree arc, black coloured hour scale from I-XII and I-XII, rotatable on the minute scale from 0-60, hinged gnomon. - Provenance: Dorotheum, auction of 13.09.2018; acquired there by the current owner -
