1980. Acrylic/wooden relief. 80 x 200 cm. Unframed. Lo. ri. sign. and dat. F. Reckert 80. - Painter, graphic artist and sculptor working in Hamburg and on Sylt. R. was trained as a lithographer and attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Kassel. After a stay in Scandinavia, he worked in Hamburg until 1938, when he received a scholarship to the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. War service and captivity took him as far as Tbilisi. After many stations, he settled back in Hamburg. His studio in the Sylt 'Witthüs' became a center of intellectual life.
