Z. studied 1945-50 at the Düsseldorf academy under O. Pankok. He painted abstract a. figurative paintings, since the 1950s he became famous with his 'Verweißungen' a. the works painted with a windscreen wiper. In 1977 he exhibited at the Documenta 6.
